Show me someone with a Roku box and I’ll show you a satisfied customer.  Fans of Roku have more to cheer about as the company announced price drops on their official forums today.  New pricing is as follows:

Model SD: $59 (was $79) (standard def)

Model HD: $69 (was $99) (720p)

Model XR: $99 (was $129) (1080p, WiFi N 2×2 dual band, USB)

The company also announced the top-of-the-line XR model will receive 1080p  support.   The timing is certainly understandable as many believe Apple is set to announce a $99 iTV streaming set top box on their music event on Wednesday.

I had the pleasure of calibrating this set and was super impressed with its film-like quality once it was dialed in.  For $869 shipped  it’s an absolute steal and a great alternative for someone who wants to go bigger than a flat panel but can’t control the ambient light for a projector.

Fry’s is having killer HDTV deals this 4th of July Weekend.  First we have the LN46C630 46″ 1080p 120Hz LCD for $699 which is a traditional CCFL backlit display with solid picture quality.

This is a great deal on a great receiver.  Denon is one of those brands I have no reservation in recommending to customers.  Amazon has the network equipped 7.1 channel AVR 3310 today only for $649 which is a no-brainer you ask me.

This THX certified projector is arguably the best you can get for less than $3000.  Amazon just dropped $200 off the price making it a terrific bargain and leaves you plenty of money for that nice roll down screen you’ve been dreaming about.  If you think front projection is out of your reach think again.  Nothing, and I mean nothing gives you the home theater experience like a projector can.

If you’re lucky enough to have a Fry’s electronics where you live head over and pick up a Harmony One for $139 after mail in rebate.  As a daily user of this remote Ican’t recommend it enough.

ABT is selling the brand new 2010 model Onkyo 608 for only $389 if you call and place a pre-order over the phone.  This is a terrific deal for a great AVR that includes all the latest features including HDMI 1.4 support for 3D capable blu-ray players and televisions.  The 608 also includes Audyssey’s latest DSX processing letting you add 2 height front speakers if your room layout allows.  A bit of warning: Onkyo’s tend to run on the warm side, so make sure you have adequate cooling in component rack.
